Inspired by the wild madrona trees near Obstruction Pass on Orcas Island in Washington.

Day 22 of a 30-day series painting coastal trees, celebrating coastal trees and the confluence of land, sea, and tree. I search for play and awe in these places, encouraging us to remember how it felt to first encounter and share air with these great storytellers.

Drawn with permanent ink and painted with watercolor on heavyweight hot press watercolor paper.

Paper dimensions are 5″ x 7″. Artwork Dimensions are 3.5″ x 5.5″.
A simple 5×7 wood frame with plexiglass  is included with each sale.
